FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What is the cost to cleanup a crime, accident or death scene?
A: The cost obviously depends on the extent of the destruction/contamination of each scene.
Q: Can you give a quote over the phone?
A: We can give you a generalized idea of the costs involved due to our many years of experience but keep in mind that the exact price won't be known until we assess the scene in person. In most cases we can perform the task at hand at a fraction of the cost of what another company will charge you.
QUESTIONS THAT WE ASK.
1) Your name/relationship to the decedent(s) if any.
2) Scene address/type of incident
3) Police report/incident number/agency/contact person
4) Your credit card for the response fee (Minimal and will be disclosed during conversation prior to charging account)
NOTE: We confirm all information prior to responding.
Q: Are there any up front costs?
A: Yes, We have a response fee that is charged up front and non-refundable should you cancel us or choose not to use us. It's a standard service fee as we incur costs immediately.

Q: Why can't I use a regular cleaning or janitorial service to clean up blood or pathological remains?

A: Individuals cleaning up blood or pathological remains must be properly trained and equipped to handle bio-hazardous waste. In addition, the waste must be disposed of in a manner that is acceptable to state and federal authorities.

Q: Who is responsible for cost of bio-hazardous clean up services?

A: The customer is responsible for the cost of any services performed by BMG. In most cases the home, auto or business insurance company will reimburse the customer for services minus any deductible.

Q: Can I have an employee clean up blood?

A: Federal Regulation 29CFR1910.1030 states that no employee can be placed in a position to be exposed to blood spills unless the following conditions are met:

1. The employee must have received blood borne pathogen (BBP) training.

2. A written BBP exposure control plan must be in place.

3. The employee must be provided personal protective equipment.

4. The employee must have been offered a Hepatitis B vaccination and associated follow-up evaluation

Barnes Mitigation Group's Policy on Graphic Photo's

Q:
Do you show crime scene photo's on your web site?

A: Absolutely not, I don't feel that it's professional, necessary or serves any purpose other than to glorify someone else's loss and showboat. When people question me about this policy I respond by asking, Would you want photo's of your family member posted on the web? Of course you wouldn't.

Q: Have you ever had crime scene photo's on a web site?

A: Yes I have. Other companies that I was involved with did this in an attempt to show the important and gruesome work that we did however, I run this company 100% therefore it is my decision not to display graphic photo's of any kind.

Q: What type of photo's are on your web site?

A: Generic in nature, You will see technicians in their PPE, other equipment, vehicles etc. No blood, no bodies, and no crime or death scenes period. You may however see photo's of mold remediation projects.

Q: Were you the first company to decide not to have crime scene photo's on your web site?

A: No, There have been other companies that have adopted this policy from the start. Again, Since I run this company 100% I have made this decision for all Barnes Companies.

Q: What do you think of other companies that do have graphic photo's on their web sites?

A: Each company has the right to do as they see fit, My concern is for this company, and our clients

General FAQ's

Q:
Do you offer nationwide service like alot of the other companies do?

A: Not at this time but we are constantly growing. Most of the companies that you see on the internet are what we call fantasy fortune 500 companies. They advertise "NATIONWIDE" but in reality they are not. It seems to be some sort of syndrome with this type of business. Companies pretend to be larger than they are, others are self proclaimed experts, but all you have to do is pay attention, and you can see right through those who are fake and those who are real. With that being said, keep in mind that there are quite a few reputable companies out there as well, people that are truly in this for all of the right reasons. We have affiliates across the nation that we refer from time to time.

Q: Do you get calls from people that need help but are not in your serving area?

A: Yes, this happens, and we point them in the direction of a company that is closest to them.
